Growing Greener
Every Day

TransPak is committed to improving the impact on the environment caused by our products and services. We constantly look for new methods and materials that promote a sustainable supply chain. Through the promotion and use of recycled (sustainable) raw materials, TransPak provides solutions for the packaging /crating products supplied to our customers that are kind to our environment.

Committed to a Sustainable Supply Chain

Our mission is to produce quality packaging & crating to meet the increasing demands for environmentally friendly products and address our customer's obligation to be socially responsible for the environment.

In addition to thoughtful business practices, we have a social good program, One Tree Planted, where we replant the trees consumed in our crating business.

Recycling, or diversion from landfills, of material waste is a key element in TransPak’s drive for a cleaner environment. Annual benchmarks and goal are established for each of our plants and these are measured on a monthly reporting basis.

TransPak's Sustainability Policy:

Sustainability is fundamental to the way we do business. It’s built into our corporate culture, decision making, supply chain management and operations in a way that allows us to deliver innovative, quality products and exceptional service our customers expect while protecting the environment and being corporate citizens. TransPak believes that sustainability is a long term continuing process.

At TransPak, we:

Diversion & Power Reduction Goals

TransPak measures and evaluates our diversion rate. In 2014, we diverted over 5 million pounds of waste from landfills into reuse or recycling for a global diversion rate of just over 92%. Since our diversion rate remains well above 90% each year and we continually strive to improve our practices.

In 2014 TransPak used 2.4 million KW of electricity. Our 2015 goal achieved reducing this usage by 500,000 KW through the installation of solar panels on our San Jose facility and other energy reduction efforts. We are committed to utilizing green energy alternatives across all of our locations. The positive results of the 2015 effort were:

for a Greener Supply Chain

One Tree Planted Partnership

In creating our TransPak One Tree Planted Partnership, we are taking our environmental leadership one step further. TransPak strives to reduce costs and increase efficiencies, internally, and on behalf of our customers. Over 90% of our waste is diverted, in the form of recycling, refurbishing, and re-use. We are one of the few crating companies that buy lumber and plywood direct versus using distributors. The mills and yards we already partner with are compliant with the Sustained Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Forest Steward Council (FSC) but we want to do more. For each tree we consume in our crating business, we replant in forests throughout the world.
